Many students in middle school and beyond struggle with interest in the sciences. Science courses structure can be filled with definitions and concepts, with traditional focus on rote learning. In addition, science can be a very tactile and visual field which lends itself to hands on learning and interactive activities. To be able to integrate the total knowledge, the students must first learn the basic knowledge structure to use towards comprehension. This can seem tiresome and monotonous, especially to active middle school learners. Middle school students need to build on the informational content to focus their abilities to grasp the full meaning.  Research by Goldsmith, Tran T., and  Tran L. (2014) has found that the earlier students have a positive exposure to health and science careers the more likely they are to pursue careers in the field. These positive experiences nurture students enthusiasm and motivation in health and science. These positive educational experiences with content is the base of the knowledge growth to help with further success in healthcare and science professions.
